Very light wind. Raining in the morning before departure. Warmer than it has been, around 4 degrees.

I installed my new marine 'mechless' stereo. It's a Christmas present from mom and dad. (Figured I'd wrap the old one and put it under the tree.)

Ran the furnace while wiring the stereo. Decided not to install 6" shocking white plastic grilled speakers into the cabin teak. (Duh.) Have instead begun building speaker boxes for them. In the meantime I have the new system hooked up to dad's existing radio shack specials. FM stereo works way better than the old set.

Once the rain had pretty much stopped, I flashed up and cruised around the Chain Islands, off the Oak Bay waterfront. Engine ran great. I'm getting the hang of shackling to the mooring buoy and while a snap shackle would be nice, it's not mandatory.

Lubricated the main sail hanks and hoisted a few times. It's still sticky but I managed to 'get it up' and down so am ready for the next sail.
