Drop off cushions and lunch at Chatham Island
Partly cloudy. Wind light, building from SW
Despite not being a member, I decided to unload the cushions for the winter at the Yacht Club. Obviously it's a lot closer to my mooring buoy than the Oak Bay Marina. So on Friday morning I dropped the van off at the club, walked to the dinghy and rowed out to T2. I dropped the crab trap off at a new location (See photo 2 in the Navionics track above) before tying up at the visitor's wharf. There was nobody at the club so after a half-hour and three trips up to the van with the cushions, I left the club with no one the wiser about my non member transgression.
I had received a voice mail from Barnucka and tried to return his call while motoring from the yacht club en route to the Oak Bay Marina. I figured if B wanted to join me for lunch at Chatham, I could pick him up at the gas dock. When I finally got a hold of him he had already made plans for the afternoon so I immediately altered course for Chatham.
After a relaxing lunch at anchor off Chatham Island, I retrieved the crab trap and kept four Dungeness crabs for dinner that night. They were a big hit and both Tania and I laughed when, after telling the kids we had to 'clean them', they were eager to help with scrub brushes and sponges.
The kids, hard at work 'cleaning' the crabs.
Those are the cleanest crabs in the kitchen!
