Flood tide.

I arrived on the boat with my fully charged car battery. I wasn't able to start the engine on my regular Thursday visit. So I took the battery home for a charge.

Starter continued to crank very slowly and laboriously. Turns out there was a loose connection to the starter and once I fixed that, the starter cranked just fine. I had to prime the fuel system a few times but eventually she started. Dodged yet another bullet.

Wind was supposed to diminish to light in the afternoon so was going to rig for Jenny but decided against that as the wind was blowing NE 25 Kts at Discovery Island. India has been sick with a high fever and Tania has had a major setback in her health following her appointment at the pain clinic in Vancouver (Ironic.), so had little energy to fight the big sail.

I decided to motor to Oak Bay Marina for fuel as tank was reading about 1/3. First time I fueled up since my trip to Portland Island last April! I took on 38.6 litres ($45.55).

I beat back to Cadboro Bay, then ran back to the entrance of Banes Channel and back. When I returned to the pin, Barnucka was working on Inkla so I rowed to shore and enjoyed a beer with the old bugger.

All in all, a spectacular day on the water. I'm really looking forward to nice weather and want to cruise to Wallace Island for my birthday in May.
