First Sail in a While
Southeast 10 - 15 Kts. Flood tide. Partly cloud.
Installed new traveler caps. Same position as Dad. Son of a Bitch knew what he was doing. New caps didn't fit on the track itself so I just installed them in the original holes. I didn't over-tighten them. When I first began working on T2, I noticed the gap between the caps and the traveller. I thought if I screwed them down tight, they might squish closer to the track ends. Just the opposite ocurred.
Soon I was rigged and ready to roll. I was kicking myself for rigging the jib, rather than the Jenny. Until I got out in the strait. Then I was powered just fine, thanks. Beautiful, steady 15 knott breeze. At one point, as I headed out through Banes Channel, I thought about going on to the Spit for the night. However, the fact that I had left Skully behind and it was fucking cold, changed my mind. Had a great sail though. No crabs. :-(
