First solo
Flat calm. Had wanted to sail but inadvertently (obviously) lost the main halyard up the mast. The good news is the halyard mechanism seems to be in good working order with no impediments. Bad news is I have to get someone to haul my fat fucking ass up the mast in the bosun's chair!
On a positive note, I managed to fix the starboard lazarette hatch lock. I know, it pales in comparison to having to retrieve a halyard but we have to celebrate small victories whenever they occur.
I decided to take her out for a cruise to Oak Bay and realized that this was the first time I'd ever taken her out single handed. I had always had Andrew with me in the past. It's so easy to slip the line on the mooring buoy and go. No need to navigate ridiculously crowded yacht clubs (CCYC)!
No pictures. (Weird eh?)
Used the auto-helm. Took a while to get it sorted out but it's great to have and seems to work. When disconnecting it, I managed to pull the plug off so will have to repair.
