Sailing with Dad (The Admiral)
Southeast 10kts
Sunny. Flood tide
I met mom and dad at the Yacht Club visitor wharf. Mom hadn't been on the boat since August, 2008 according to Dad's logs. After a brief visit, Mom left and Dad and I got underway. At first it looked like a zero wind situation so I headed for Chatham Island, intent on dropping the anchor, having lunch and waiting for the wind which was forecast to build in the afternoon.
As we approached Baines Channel, the wind came up so we raised the main and Jenny. We enjoyed a lovely sail on a perfect summer day. As usual there was a nice little breeze hugging the shoreline just East of Ten Mile Point.
Oh, by the way, according to the Navionics track above, we ended our day in Baines Channel. Actually that's when my tablet ran out of power. Apparently I wasn't payin' attention.
