Whitecaps in the anchorage at Chatham Island
SE 25-30 Kts. Mostly sunny.
After fueling up at Oak Bay Marina, I headed out aimlessly. At first I didn't feel like sailing so I headed toward Chatham Island with the intent to drop the hook and just veg out for a while. Unfortunately the South wind was creating whitecaps in the anchorage, so that didn't work out.
There were also a couple of other boats under sail so I felt like a looser motoring around with my sail cover off. I bit the bullet, motored across Banes Channel into the lee of Ten Mile Point before raising the main sail. Even under main sail alone, it was an exhilarating if tiring hour until I dropped sail and returned to my mooring buoy.,
I awoke the next morning to severe neck pain and have realized that because my chart plotter is located on the chart table, on the port side of the cabin, I'm constantly sitting on the starboard side and looking forward. I have to switch that up to avoid this debilitating pain.
How did I end up being 53 years old anyhow?
